Welcome to Usborne Central Public School

Welcome to Usborne Central, home of the Usborne All Stars! Our small rural school of 110 Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 students is located just outside Exeter. This year we have 15 dedicated and enthusiastic staff members, 7 teachers, 5 Educational Assistants, a TRA who runs our library/lab every other day, one custodian and a secretary. As a staff, we all strive to embed the Character Traits of Respect, Responsibility, Courage, Optimism, Empathy, Honesty, Integrity, Compassion and Perseverance into our lessons and activities in an intentional fashion. We also endeavour to model these character attributes on a daily basis. We value high achievement in all areas of the curriculum and have set high goals for ourselves and our students in Math and Language.

We know that students thrive in a safe and supportive environment where school, home and the community work together. Last year, the theme “Usborne Cares” was central to many of our undertakings, as seen on our banner leading our float in the Christmas parade. We organized many opportunities for our school to show we care about each individual student, the local community, the larger global community and the environment we live in. This year we continue to look for ways to show we care about those around us. Just like the stars in the night sky, we encourage our students, from the youngest (JK) to the oldest (gr. 8) to shine brightly.
